Holy crap, does this blog still work?

24 Jun

I mean, it’s only been a year and a half since I wrote anything. Guess that means I don’t have much of a life or a reader base anymore.

Let’s see, in the past 18 months what all has happened;
1. Stuff with kids
2. Stuff with family
3. Stuff with life

That pretty much sums that up. My kids are huge and I continuously tell my daughter to stop growing. The boy got rid of the paci and potty trained all in 6 months. I’m still a SAHM but hopefully not for too much longer. I have a job interview this week and I’d really like this job, mainly to feel like I contribute to the family and so I’m around adults again. Cross your fingers for me.

I’ve started on my weight loss journey again. Yeah, yeah, yeah, again. I KNOW! I tried to do the surgical route but my insurance decided to be assholes, so now I’m doing it the “old fashioned” way. I’ve been on the journey since early-April and I’m down 23lbs. I’m down 3 sizes and already feel better about myself. I work out 6 days a week and actually miss it if I don’t go to the gym. Which is completely 100% strange for me. My sis also now got me hooked on Zumba. I wasn’t sure I’d like it, but we went together at my gym while she was visiting and I’ve been back since (2x a week). I LOVE it. I love dancing (hello, have you read my blog?) and I feel so good/sweaty/accomplished when that hour is done. If I keep up this whole “blogging” thing that I suck at, I’m sure this will turn into a weight loss blog (yeah, another).

Family is awesome. I’ve never been happier and I love where I/we are right now. We did have a loss though. In January we had to put down our baby, Hopie, the shih-tzu. She helped me get through Avery’s (our first baby) death. Putting her down due to age and illness brought back that pain and it hurt bad. I hadn’t cried like that in a long time. We had gotten a Boston Terrier the summer before, so luckily we have her to love on, but we still miss our Hopie.

Health, eh. I’m healthier than I have been, I think. But the ankles still suck. I fell on Christmas Eve and broke a bone in my ankle and got another 3rd degree sprain. The good thing, the ER was surprisingly slow on Christmas Eve and so my wait time was nil. Saw an orthopod and was in a boot. All is well now. My RSD leg still hurts. Guess it always will. Temperature changes, socks, air, touching still suck too.

Hmpf, I guess that’s all. The way I write I may not be back until January 2014 and by then I’ll weigh 140lbs. Ha!

What’s new pussycat…whoa, whoa, whoa…

Oh yeah sing it with me…

Ok, so not really.  I just figured I haven’t blogged in a while, may as well do it tonight.

Let’s see, I finished the CK Summer Camp and had a blast. I did 5 pages, which is pretty good for me, had lots of fun and got some major positive feedback from some editors at CK! 🙂 Maybe one day they’ll publish me. Well, probably not, but let’s just go with it!

Jay is officially walking and trying to run already. From the moment he’s up he walks all around the living room (we have the other parts of the house gated off). He’s cracking me up, I forgot how funny new walkers look.

Kenna is good. I think she’s enjoying not being on the go all the time with softball and dance and everything. She misses softball more than dance, so I doubt we’ll go back into the dance studio with her. I’m ok with that, I think she wanted to dance more for me and the makeup than anything. She has softball tryouts for a select team next week.

Sean’s been busy. He’s got something coming up next week but I won’t talk about it here yet. For privacy reasons.

I’ve been thoroughly enjoying ballet each week. It’s like my body, although fatter, remembers what to do. I did get a wee-bit injured last week but I’m doing fine now. I’ll keep it up just be very careful with it.  The win biz is just about kaput. I have no leads, no tastings, no interest from it. I’m bummed because I was really enjoying it. I think August will be the end of it for me. I’m down more weight but it’s a teeny bit. I thought dancing again would help shake things up but not so much. I also think my Wii may not weigh correctly, since this week it said I gained .4lbs but then I held a gallon of milk and it said I lost 3lbs…sooooo I’m thinking…no! I’ll just base my weight loss on my clothes and how they are fitting.  My 16s fit well and my 18s are now falling off. I officially showed someone at the dollar store my panties the other day. Luckily it was the dollar store, I’m sure they’re used to white trash, so it wasn’t any big deal. I did almost fall though, they seriously fell that far down! Thankfully I had on clean and pretty panties! I feel better just wish it’d hurry and come off, I’m ready to be sexy again.

Hopie…well, she just needs a bath and go to the beauty shop. I need to get her rabies up to date so I can’t take her for 2wks after her shot…humpf.

I guess that’s all.

Ding, ding, ding

The fight is on people!  I got notice on Saturday that my work comp benefits were ending due to the designated doctor being a dumbass.  Now, I’m sure that wasn’t the ACTUAL diagnosis but it’s pretty close!

So today I called my insurance adjuster and he’s out of the office, so I called the state department of insurance work comp division and started the appeals process.  I go to my treating doctor, both of them, and see if they agree or disagree with the findings from the designated doctor (aka DD or dumbass doc).  Then we go from there.

I have no problem seeing my docs again, they understand and know what I’ve been through.  I’m not hiding or trying to screw the insurance company, so they are in for a fight.  I’ve also been on hold, until being hung up on thanks to long hold times, with social security since I’m approved for disability.  Hmpf, this is never what I wanted, this is never what I thought would happen at 30 years old.  But it’s what I’ve been dealt and what I have to deal with!

Stupid work comp people

I finally got a letter about my long term disability…yes, after 5 months!  They denied me because they claim my injury falls into the pre-exsisting condition thing.  Everything they stated for reason for denial was based on my RIGHT ankle…not the LEFT like it should have been!  Duh, I'm not saying that I'm disabled because of my right ankle morons…it feels great.  It's the LEFT ankle, like I have told them at least once a month since September!

Geeze, so now I have to fight it and see if they can pull their heads out of their asses long enough to realize the difference between left and right!  In the meantime, I lose my money from them.  UGH, now is not the time I need to lose money, not with a baby coming!

Idiots!

Quickie

30 Jun

This insomnia has to end.  Seriously I usually do an every other night thing…one night I sleep like the dead the next night I'm up all night long and over and over.  I'm even on meds, heavy sleeping meds and they don't work.  The pain from the RSD is now going up my leg more and all over my toes (it used to be the top of my foot up to my ankle and ended at my toes).  The bottom of my foot is now hurting like a burning pain.  How am I supposed to walk if the bottom of my foot hurts?

I have an appt either today (monday, since it's 2 am!) or tomorrow with the psych doc to see if he thinks I'm ok for the spinal cord stimulator.  But I've done research on the SCS and it's like a tens unit placed in your back.  That worries me all over again because when I wear my tens on my foot/ankle I can barely stand it, it doesn't help it actualy hurts more.  So if the SCS is like a TENS is it really going to help?  Should I go through all this (1 wk trial with no shower, psych evals and $30K of WC) for possibly more pain?  It works in 65-75% of people with RSD. (* pity party alert, warning)  Knowing me I'll be in the 25-ish% that it won't work on.

And to top it off I have a growth on my back (the back of my shoulder).  I noticed it, actually sis the nurse noticed it, last summer but it was small.  Kenna saw it today and was grossed out.  It's much bigger now (it's still only the size of a pencil eraser) than it was.  It's not painful but kind of hard.  So now I get to call a dermatologist tomorrow to see if I can get in sometime this century.

I promise in the next few days I'll try and update with a better topic.  Either that or more digi pages since I do them when I can't sleep! LMAO!

OH yeah, I'm also applying for disability.  It's a long shot but if anyone has any advice or knowledge on the subject could you message me?  Thanks!

Short and sweet, I still hurt.  I start PT tomorrow. I fell down the stairs yesterday (my ankle gave out).  Sucks…hurts.  That's it.

Ah, the Brostrom Procedure calls again!

10 Feb

Well, I won't go into detail but you all remember the lovely surgery I had in September (has it really been THAT LONG?!).  Then the fateful day just 120 hours after the surgery when I fell at work?  Yeah, looks like I get to have the wonderful surgery on the sprained ankle that I had on the right ankle.  Now it's just time to wait for the state of Texas to remove their heads from thier asses and OK the surgery so I can get it over with.

Here's to a cast and crutches for 6-8 weeks again!  St. Pat's Day should be oodles of fun this year!

Update on all kinds of stuff

29 Sep

Well, today was my P&C general lines agent exam.  And lemme just say, that thing was a bitch!  I had to take a class during work this week and took the test today at noon.  After 150 questions and 1 hr and 6 minutes I got my results…a 74%!  Wooooooooo hoooooooooooooooooo!  I had to make at least a 70%, I've never been so damned happy to make a 'C' in my life!  Now I just have to wait for the state of Texas to approve my application and I'll be licensed!

On another note…my ankles, because apparently my ankles have become my life.  My left one (the sprain) is horrible.  It hurts so badly and is more swollen than ever before.  My toes are even numb…I have a horrible suspicion that I'll have surgery on that one soon.  My right one, the surgery one, is doing great…it doesn't hurt.  My calf is really hurting but I think it may be because I'm using that leg more than I should to compensate the shitty left leg.  Also, two of my toes (my pinky and the one next to it) on the surgery leg are bruised…it looks freaky.  I have an appt next week so we'll see what the doc says.

Kenna is doing so good in school.  She's learning how to spell things, count even higher and starting to learn to read.  She's also getting very tall.  She was getting in trouble for talking during class, but we talked about that and she's been doing great.  Hearing all she does in school makes me laugh…OH and we have a loose tooth.  It's not very loose at all, but hey it's a wiggle and a start.

Sean's Memo passed away a few days ago, we had her service here.  Sean spoke at the funeral and even teared up, so that was hard.  My school is going good.  I've been making pretty good grades, I could do better but seriously I have a damn life!  I'm in a break right now so that's nice…but soon I'll finally have that frickin' degree…whatever will I do with myself when I'm not in school!? LMAO!

Here's two pics for ya…sprained ankle swelling and bruised toes…oh and as an added bonus, a new digi page!

Oh my ankles!

17 Sep

I haven't posted since the surgery update and I'm sorry for that.  But I have a total excuse.  Surgery went well and actually the pain isn't too bad at all.  I now have a very pretty cast, all doodled up from my daughter.

But then the fun started.  To make a long story short…I fell on my second day at my new job and now have a sprained left ankle…3rd degree too!  So, needless to say, I'm in a wheelchair with one leg in a cast one in a splint. It's a possibility that I will have to have surgery on the newly injured leg after a bit, but we'll see…so, here's the pics, oh what fun!

This one is my left…look how pretty and swollen and black and blue!  The bruising is now moving to the right side of the foot and even up my leg!  This actually hurts more than the damn surgery one!

And here's my pretty cast!  My lovely daughter is having a blast, it's her own personal coloring pad!

Surgery update!

7 Sep
Ok, well the surgery actually went GREAT!  Nobody could believe I was that "chipper" and "perky" after.  But it wasn't too bad at all.  Pain isn't great though, I've been trying to keep on top of my pain, but it got outta control last night and I'm pretty damned tired, but really I can't complain.  Here are two sites that talk about the surgical procedure.  It's called a Brostrom procedure, and he also was supposed to do the arthroscope too…, but here's some sites, the second does have acutal surgery photos…so be warned!:

I'll add some pics of the leg, it's hard to explain how it's wrapped up.  Kenna took a few too…and took one of me, I look like shit but I was tired, it was last night so I had my famous black circles under my eyes!
